News
The Hong Kong based watch company SD-09 is trying to add to the market, using the best materials, craftsmanship and distinctive designs, a new appealing watch - the SD-09™ Spacecraft Timepiece which is inspired by space. The watch with a weight of 230grams comes with a 316L stainless steel case measuring 42mm in diameter and 14 mm in thickness. The Finland forged steel is additionally PVD coated for an increased case resistance to scratches and chemical factors. The brushed case has a complex 3-parts construction (actually it's not really only 3 parts but the whole case is composed of 20 parts and more than 20 screws): 1.The bezel has the top vertically brushed finishing and the chamfered edges have high polished finishes. Interesting move for Auguste Reymond

Interesting move for Auguste Reymond

News
As far as I know Kickstarter was always intended for start-ups but now Swiss brand Auguste Reymond decided to jump on it. That’s quite fun as I had this discussion with several young brands during Baselworld 2017. The discussion were always on the topic of sales and extra visibility. To be honest I think that even for established brands (young or not), Kickstarter could be a good lever of development. This can allow to probe the market in relation to a new product, to reach a wider audience and often people who do not know the brand yet, but also to be present, thanks to this platform, in markets where they are not at the moment. And of course, we see it here with this campaign of Auguste Reymond, it…

The perfect hybrid smartwatch? ZETime by MyKronoz Switzerland

The perfect hybrid smartwatch? ZETime by MyKronoz Switzerland

News
We are witnessing an entire horological revolution: classical watches towards smart watches and smartwatches towards classical watches.  Just think on how classic watches are going smarter like the Longines VHP, which is actually a smart watch with micro-processors and sensors but doesn't synchronize with phone and doesn't have notifications. On the other hand, think at the smartwaches, for instance Samsung S3 done with Artya to be more close to a classic Watch (to read more about it jump on the last issue of our magazine by clicking HERE). Everybody wants what the others have... This seems somehow logical as both sides try to keep their customers and gain new ones. In the last two years the market was assaulted by better horological smartwatches and more classical designed smartwatches, but there…

1st Edition of the Pop-Up Wine & Time – Basel 2017

News
Yes Wine & Time rhymes so nicely but what’s behind this new concept ? With a group of friends and professionals of the watch industry, we felt that true luxury is the place where Art, Culture and Quality converge. We wanted to create a private event that would bring together what we believe are the four most important parts of the watch industry - Brands (owners, managers, directors), Communicators (Journalists/Bloggers and Influencers both Print and Digital), Watch Retailers and Distributors, and Fans and Collectors. With Wine & Time – Basel 2017, we have created the opportunity for these four groups to meet and to get to know each other in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and to taste some fine wines in the process… Yes because good wines is in…

News
This is your last chance to get a super early bird of the new and highly customizable Miang Copenhagen Bespoke as it is on Kickstarter until March 28th. With 20 Million design variations this watch is probably the world's most customizable watch. In 2015, the Denmark based brand launched their very first watch, the customizable Flash Automatic GMT which was a big success. As a proud owner of one of these, I can only say that I’m always impressed when putting it on my wrist about the quality of this piece. So right now, I’m thrilled to see this new release. The particularity of the brand created by Jens Ole Miang is that it gives you the freedom to create a truly personal watch. I mean, you have the choice in…

The new classic – Straton Syncro

The new classic – Straton Syncro

Uncategorized
I see, more and more in the last years, a comeback of the classic watches designs. I could not be happier to have the opportunity to choose between a wide range of new, modern ideas and reiterated classic designs, most of them iconic, especially when these come with an affordable price tag. A modern watch with a classic design comes from the Straton Watch Co., a company that already had two successful campaigns on Kickstarter and made a new one which raised more than 250,000CHF with a watch named Straton Syncro. Following a classic chronograph design, inspired from the successful names from the 70’s as the Seiko Speed-Timer, Bulova Deep Sea or Breitling TransOcean Blue Dial, this watch has the advantages of the modern technique and a warm, vintage look.…

The 3rd Re-Launch Edition of Lebois & Co Avantgarde Date

News
Already 35% funded and only 16 days to go… Will you be one of their proud backer and get one of the 100 Avantgarde Date (3rd re-Launch Edition) from Lebois & Co ? This piece is a Watchisthis favorite and it’s available right now on Kickstarter. Here we like watches of course but we also love beautiful stories, and Lebois&Co is one of them. Let’s have a look to this story before talking about their new release. The original brand was founded in 1934 by French watch manufacturer Raymond Dodane, who represents the third generation of the Dodane watchmaker family. In 1972 and almost 40 years after it was created, Lebois & Co ceased trading and stoped producing watches and so, the brand ceased to exist. Early 2014 Tom & Eveline…

News
Launched Wednesday 15th, February, Klynt Genève is the Kickstarter campaign not to be missed when you love Haute Horlogerie. EXE WATCH: Affordable Smart Watch For iOS & Android

EXE WATCH: Affordable Smart Watch For iOS & Android

News
When it comes to smart watches, your decision is limited by the phone you have. An Apple Watch is of little use without an iPhone, and the same goes for any Android-powered smart watch. Exe Watch is going to fix this with the very first smart watch that can handle both. https://vimeo.com/183267994 The Exe Watch comes in two different versions, the C2, and the more advanced C7. The C7 is US$20,- more expensive as the C2 but in return, you get 400 x 400 pixels instead of 240 x 240 pixels, 256MB RAM instead of 128MB and more sensors. Heart rate, Barometer, and temperature are added onto the G-sensor that the C2 also has. Unique is that the C7 is also fitted with a UV-sensor, which can warn you how…
