Interview Arnaud Pézeron – Founder of SYE Watches

Interview
We love to see new projects and new brands emerge. And that's why we wanted to know more about SYE (Start Your Engine) Watches. You will find all the details of this project in this interview with Mr. Arnaud Pézeron who is the Co-Founder of this new brand. Could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? It’s a long story ;) but to make it short let’s say I’ve always been fascinated by the beautiful object on the wrist. And for me things became serious 20 years ago when visiting a flea market I found myself at a sudden stand still in front of the Spaceman watch from Andre Le Marquand. In a few words this watch changed my life because everything snowballed from…

Interview Marie Boutteçon – Creative Co-founder of her eponymous brand

Interview
These last days we had the chance to speak with Marie Boutteçon, creative co-founder of her eponymous brand. In this interview, the sparkling and energetic French girl will tell us the secret behind her brand. Hey girls, you know what? You will love it !!! - Could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? I was born and raised in an artistic family. My father is a master of wood marquetry and is recognized globally for his precision and unique craftsmanship. He has worked for several luxury watch brands including Cartier and Jaeger Lecoultre, and exclusively for Patek Philippe recently. Through observing my father, watchmaking became a natural interest early in my childhood, as I discovered the refined creations of luxury brands, and the…

Interview Adriaan Trampe – Eza Watches

Interview
Today we have the chance to share with you an interview of Adriaan Trampe (Co-Founder of Eza Watches). I hope you will like it and that the latter will make you want to discover a little more about this brand. - Could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? My interest for watches started during high school. I was mostly interested in the mechanical movement itself. Also the romantic pictures of watchmakers in the Swiss mountains working on their watches while the snow was falling outside captured my imagination. We didn’t have much of this in The Netherlands (where I come from) but still, the passion for watchmaking grew. I wasn’t a very good student in high school. Always passing to the next year…

Feynman Timekeepers – One Eclipse

Feynman Timekeepers – One Eclipse

News
To start the year I had the pleasure to try the new Feynman One Eclipse, and guys, this is something you should add in your collection.Oh yes, this is not a sponsored post, but just my own thoughts. For the recall, Feynman Timekeepers was founded in Singapore by Yong Keong Lim who decided to name his brand after his son name, Feynman Lin, who was himself named like this as a homage to Richard Feynman, the father of Theoretical Physics. I saw their first release several times on the social networks and of course on their Kickstarter campaign launched in the end of 2018, and I always wondered about the quality of it. Now that I have it on my wrist I can say YES, this is a great timepiece…

In talk with Jacob Andra – SOMA Horology Marketplace

Interview
SOMA Horology Marketplace is the new exciting thing in the watch industry. For some people and some brands it was obvious to join this platform directly while some others are still thinking about it with the questions in the corner of their heads : “How does it work ? Have I to jump on it ?“… And at the end they say : “Why the hell I’m not already on it ?“ Today at Watchisthis we are glad to share with you an interview of Jacob Andra, one of the co-founders of this new platform. It’s quite long but believe me it’s worth the reading time ;-) [caption id="attachment_3676" align="aligncenter" width="632"] Left : Jacob Andra from SOMA - Right : Armand Billard from Sartory Billard Watches[/caption]   Watchisthis : As…

Astbury & Kent Stellaris – A tourbillon for all

Astbury & Kent Stellaris – A tourbillon for all

News
Those recent days I was lucky enough to try the new Astbury & Kent Stellaris AK735. This new piece that you can still find on kickstarter is quite a success. Finding a tourbillon for less than 2500$ is not usual and of course you can express some reserves about its quality. To be honest I was quite astonished… That’s so great to see this kind of complication into affordable range without being necessarily of low quality. Indeed, that was completely unthinkable some 10 or 15 years. Of course the movement has been produced in Far East but it’s not cheap and in the contratry it’s a fantatisc value for the price. Founded by Terrence Ray Flores and Tom McCulloch, two certified watch nuts, Astbury and Kent was born of a…

The lovely Terra Cielo Mare Milano San Babila

The lovely Terra Cielo Mare Milano San Babila

Magazine
Some weeks ago I had the chance to meet Eric Delicati who is distributor of the Italian brand Terra Cielo Mare. This brand is not really visible today because of a lack of communication but honestly it’s a brand on which you should have a look. For the record, Terra Cielo Mare is a family business that produces watches for enthusiast and collectors since 1999. The interesting thing is that behind everyone of their watches there’s a real story to tell. That means that they try to develop and narrate the history of aviation, naval, mechanical engineering and Italy through Haute Horlogerie. That’s not the most common thing in todays watch industry. Indeed, most of the time, a designer draws a watch and then the marketing director says : “Ok,…
