Stop everything, here’s the Feynman Cove

Stop everything, here’s the Feynman Cove

Review
I think that the title of this article says it all… The Feynman Cove is just a bomb. Some months ago I wrote a review about the One Eclipse and I was already speechless about the quality and the beauty of this piece. But now, the Cove… oh guys this watch is a stunner.I received the piece some weeks ago and I can't take it off my wrist anymore. It’s probably one of best watches I had the chance to try this year. The watch that Yong Keong Lim sent me is the Cove Vintage. At first I would prefer the Founder’s Edition (green) or the Eclypse (blue) because I really like colorful watches. But when I opened the parcel and saw this deep black watch, I immediately fell in…

Interview Diyu WU – Founder of Sólás Watches

Interview
These last days I had the chance to speak with Diyu Wu, the founder of the new brand Sólás Watches. I'm sure you will like his new watch and the whole story around. So let's jump on the interview :-) Could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? Hi Jonathan, thanks for inviting me to this interview. I was born in China but at a young age moved to the UK for a number of years before coming to Ireland where I grew up. It was in university when I seriously started to enjoy reading, researching and collecting watches. My first watch that I researched and bought was a Sea-Gull M171s (and you’ll see my username on the WatchUSeek forums still refers to that…

Interview Léopoldo Celi – Founder of Fugue Watches

Interview
A few weeks ago we had the chance to sit down and speak with Léopoldo Celi, Founder of Fugue Watches. Now, let's jump into the story of this young brand... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNeGy-2_NcE Could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? My love affair with watches started 12 years ago with a very special gift from my parents, an Omega Speedmaster. This gift came with a condition: I had to find the watch myself aftermarket with a maximum budget of 1000€ which was, even for the time, very challenging. After I succeeded finding this gem the hunt changed me forever. I became a vintage watches collector (on a budget) and was instantly drawn to the creativity and soul of vintage pieces. I later became interested in…

Interview Clément Meynier – Founder of Depancel Watches

Interview
As a lover of beautiful mechanics, I kept an eye on a young French brand which offers watches inspired by cars. I had the chance to interview Clément Meynier who is the founder of Depancel Watches. Hi Clément could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? Hello Jonathan, and thank you for this interview! Originally, I trained as an engineer and worked in a research laboratory in Geneva, called the CERN. I am from the Jura region, near the Swiss border, and I have always been passionate about fine watchmaking and curious to understand how mechanical watches really work. Then, I enrolled at a training center in Geneva to learn watchmaking. It was supposed to be a simple hobby to satisfy my curiosity, but…

Interview Adriaan Trampe – Eza Watches

Interview
Today we have the chance to share with you an interview of Adriaan Trampe (Co-Founder of Eza Watches). I hope you will like it and that the latter will make you want to discover a little more about this brand. - Could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? My interest for watches started during high school. I was mostly interested in the mechanical movement itself. Also the romantic pictures of watchmakers in the Swiss mountains working on their watches while the snow was falling outside captured my imagination. We didn’t have much of this in The Netherlands (where I come from) but still, the passion for watchmaking grew. I wasn’t a very good student in high school. Always passing to the next year…

Astbury & Kent Stellaris – A tourbillon for all

Astbury & Kent Stellaris – A tourbillon for all

News
Those recent days I was lucky enough to try the new Astbury & Kent Stellaris AK735. This new piece that you can still find on kickstarter is quite a success. Finding a tourbillon for less than 2500$ is not usual and of course you can express some reserves about its quality. To be honest I was quite astonished… That’s so great to see this kind of complication into affordable range without being necessarily of low quality. Indeed, that was completely unthinkable some 10 or 15 years. Of course the movement has been produced in Far East but it’s not cheap and in the contratry it’s a fantatisc value for the price. Founded by Terrence Ray Flores and Tom McCulloch, two certified watch nuts, Astbury and Kent was born of a…

The lovely Terra Cielo Mare Milano San Babila

The lovely Terra Cielo Mare Milano San Babila

Magazine
Some weeks ago I had the chance to meet Eric Delicati who is distributor of the Italian brand Terra Cielo Mare. This brand is not really visible today because of a lack of communication but honestly it’s a brand on which you should have a look. For the record, Terra Cielo Mare is a family business that produces watches for enthusiast and collectors since 1999. The interesting thing is that behind everyone of their watches there’s a real story to tell. That means that they try to develop and narrate the history of aviation, naval, mechanical engineering and Italy through Haute Horlogerie. That’s not the most common thing in todays watch industry. Indeed, most of the time, a designer draws a watch and then the marketing director says : “Ok,…

Jubileon is back with the Superellipse Chrono

Jubileon is back with the Superellipse Chrono

News
In september 2017 Jubileon launched their first Kickstarter campaign with the really cool Superellipse. This piece was really classic but with a nice design. You can find it HERE . Now the independent brand from Singapore is back with an evolution of their first watch. This one, that they just launched on Kickstarter (5 April), is a pretty cool chrono. To be honest I’m quite astonished by the level of quality of this piece. Not just by the design, which is really strong, but also by the whole… Including the movement. Because Yes, powering the Superellipse Chrono is the well known ETA 7750 Valjoux movement. You can find this movement in almost every chrono in the market, but rarely at the price of 799$. Well thanks to Kickstarter you will…
