I see, more and more in the last years, a comeback of the classic watches designs. I could not be happier to have the opportunity to choose between a wide range of new, modern ideas and reiterated classic designs, most of them iconic, especially when these come with an affordable price tag. Although this has resulted in quite some creative watches, the majority of them still follow the classic suit of being a diver or a pilots watch. The Patina Project With Regia Timepieces Episode III

Not yet happy with the patina on my bronze Regia Skull Dial, and with Halloween approaching fast, I took matters into my own hands. It kind of sounds like a recipe, yet involving a watch. You boil an egg and put it in a zip-lock bag together with your watch. You can crush the egg for extra effect, but I decided to keep mine whole. Do remove the strap, because we are looking for patina, not a stained and smelly strap. Unless you like this for an extra Halloween effect of course. A couple of weeks ago we started our Patina Project with a Regia Skull Dial watch crafted from brass. It has proved to be a loyal companion, comfortable on the wrist and reliable in its timekeeping. But how about the brass case? Because this material is influenced by the atmospheric environment you use it in, not two Regia Skull Dial watches will turn out to look the same. In Dubai or Singapore the brass will most likely discolor and tarnish in a different way then here in North America. Brew Watch Co. has just launched its second watch, the HP-1. With a design inspired by industrial coffee machines, the HP-1 is unlike any other watch out there. It is a big step ahead of the first Brew watch the special blend series, a quartz chronograph, and not only in terms of movement. Brew Watch Co. is based in New York City, and that shows. Zelos Hammerhead; More Than Just A Diver

The new diver by Zelos watches is far from subtle. But that is exactly what is so much fun about it! Zelos named the watch "Hammerhead", and although I get the reference, the watch is far more attractive than the shark it's named after. The diver looks large and bulky, and does not apologizes for that. If it was a dress watch that would be unforgivable, but with a diver like the Hammerhead it would have been like Sylvester Stallone apologizing for his muscles. Quite frankly, the dimensions of the Hammerhead are not even that monstrous. The case is 44mm excluding the crown, and the height is 17mm.
