Interview Pierre Bernheim – Founder of 26 Spirits of Switzerland

Interview
A few weeks ago we had the chance to sit down and speak with Pierre Bernheim, Founder of 26 Spirits of Switzerland. Now, let's jump into the story of this young brand... Could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? I’m 38 years old, married to a beautiful woman and father of 3 wonderful kids. Besides, I’m the grandson of Mr Raymond Weil who transmitted me his passion for watches and flying. After working in the family brand for 6 years, I launched my own watch brand 88 RUE DU RHONE in 2012. 10 years later, with 36 national markets opened, and more than 150’000 watches sold worldwide, the brand was acquired by a leading Chinese business group. Being a born entrepreneur, I could…

Hands-on : Mathey-Tissot MT369 AMWG Exclusive

Review
In recent weeks I had the chance to try the Mathey-Tissot MT369 MT369 AMWG Exclusive and I have to say that I enjoyed wearing it. This watch came to me thanks to Vincent Ho who is the admin of the Asia Mechanical Watch Group on Facebook. The one that I received is now sold out but you can note (as it’s engraved on the caseback) that it was a special edition made for AMWG members. This piece produced by Mathey-Tissot is of course a homage like almost all their watches. A bit of history A bit of history about the brand because I’m sure you already heard about them. Near the center of the Swiss Jura Mountains, at an altitude of 3.300 feet, lies the village of Les Ponts de…

Pynchon Watches Debuts with the Negotium Collection

Pynchon Watches Debuts with the Negotium Collection

Review
Several months ago, I found out about Pynchon Watches on Twitter. At this time I was quite impressed by the pictures posted, and even more because they wanted to start a new adventure with some really special watches. Today they make their debuts in the watch industry with the Negotium Collection. The company has started a Pre-Order campaign on www.pynchon.co.uk to fund the production of the collection but also to fund the next collections, which are really interesting. The watch is using the quartz movement 706B Ronda calibre. Sure yes, I’m not a fan of quartz watches but but this one is interesting because it offers a lot of functionalities. And that makes the whole difference. Indeed, on the Negotium watch you will find the days, date, moon date, weeks,…

Last of 2020 – Rogue Horology Type 1 Diver

Review
Finally we arrive at the end of this very bizarre year ... We must admit that the Covid has turned everything upside down and for us watch journalists the year was really strange ... No trade fairs, no real contact with people, difficulties in trying on watches, and so on. Well, it was the same thing for everyone and even if 2021 arrives I'm not sure there will be any real improvements. It does not matter, Watchisthis will continue to disseminate information about watches under $ 2500, microbrands, but not just that ... And yes it is an announcement, we will also evolve in 2021. And to end this year I wanted to highlight to a project that I really like. This is Rogue Horology from Singapore. Well I’m honest…

Yes I was soooo upset… The package was opened and unfortunately the watch was stolen. The thief left the case, but no more watch inside. This was a very disturbing situation for me as this was the first time in 11 years of activity in the watch industry that this happened to me.But this was just the start of this bad story. Indeed, some days after that, Adriaan (owner of the brand) decided to send me another sample of the 1972 for a review… But you know what ? The parcel never arrived…

Interview Léopoldo Celi – Founder of Fugue Watches

Interview
A few weeks ago we had the chance to sit down and speak with Léopoldo Celi, Founder of Fugue Watches. Now, let's jump into the story of this young brand... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNeGy-2_NcE Could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? My love affair with watches started 12 years ago with a very special gift from my parents, an Omega Speedmaster. This gift came with a condition: I had to find the watch myself aftermarket with a maximum budget of 1000€ which was, even for the time, very challenging. After I succeeded finding this gem the hunt changed me forever. I became a vintage watches collector (on a budget) and was instantly drawn to the creativity and soul of vintage pieces. I later became interested in…

Interview Adriaan Trampe – Eza Watches

Interview
Today we have the chance to share with you an interview of Adriaan Trampe (Co-Founder of Eza Watches). I hope you will like it and that the latter will make you want to discover a little more about this brand. - Could you tell us a bit about you and about your story with watches? My interest for watches started during high school. I was mostly interested in the mechanical movement itself. Also the romantic pictures of watchmakers in the Swiss mountains working on their watches while the snow was falling outside captured my imagination. We didn’t have much of this in The Netherlands (where I come from) but still, the passion for watchmaking grew. I wasn’t a very good student in high school. Always passing to the next year…
