Hands-on : Isotope GMT 0°

Hands-on : Isotope GMT 0°

Review
British-based microbrand Isotope is back with the pretty cool GMT 0º watch. This piece is the brand’s third offering. I quite like the idea behind the brand and of course we have already presented the Rider Jumping Hour and the Goutte d’Eau. I had the chance to put my hands-on this new piece and honestly it’s really nice. The reason for the Isotope GMT 0º’s name is that Isotope is a brand based in Britain: on the same meridian as Greenwich, from which the term GMT is derived. This is different The really interesting thing about this watch is that it doesn’t use normal hand as many other GMT watches on the market, but it features a clever Lacrima shaped cut out center dial which is actualy where is display the…

Ball Releases Engineer Master II Voyager

Ball Releases Engineer Master II Voyager

News
Ball rightfully named their latest addition to the collection Engineer Master II Voyager. Although a mouth full, the watch unites all the elements of these names in a single timepiece. Next to the bold numerals with Ball's signature micro gas tubes (which are also placed on the hands) is it the large date that demands attention. A subtle subdial at 6 o'clock displays the second-time-zone. With this Ball unites two very popular complications in a single watch that is consistent with their brand DNA. [caption id="attachment_2614" align="aligncenter" width="315"] 44mm Ball Engineer Master II Voyager in the dark[/caption] Ball offers the watch in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm in diameter. Both look similar and well proportioned, although the 44mm comes with a sub dial for the second time zone that eats…

Affordable At Auction: Cartier Pasha C GMT

Affordable At Auction: Cartier Pasha C GMT

Affordable at Auction
Cartier is not really a brand many people think of when they hear the word "affordable". However, older models can sometimes be found for surprisingly low prices. A good example of this is the Pasha C GMT that Antiquorum is offering as lot 301 for their October 8th auction in New York City. They have set the estimate at US$ 1.000,-/ US$ 2.000,-. When introduced the Pasha C was the entry-level for the Pasha-collection. Don't take that "entry-level" too literally because Cartier didn't cut many corners when making it. The corner that they did cut is one you might actually be happy about. Instead of using Girard-Perregaux or Frederic Piguet movements, the Pasha C collection is powered by ETA-movements. Although this might disappoint hard-core Haute Horlogerie connoisseurs, it does provide…

In a time when the world is a global village people travel for many reasons all over the globe. Frederique Constant has just released a watch to accompany you on your travels. The Classics Index Automatic GMT is the type of watch that Frederique Constant always does so well; not a crazy design breakthrough, but a solid, well made watch with a classical touch and an affordable price tag. As straight forward as the design of the New Classics Index Automatic GMT may be, it is far from boring. The dial features silver-colored (of rose gold for the rose gold-plated version) Roman numerals that are sandwiched between printed minute dashes and the 24 hour scale for the second time zone. Stunning leaf-shaped hands give the watch a slightly more classic…
