Raymond Weil has unveiled the biggest musical collaboration in its history with its new limited edition maestro watch that honours The Beatles. This new watch partnership in the music icons series marks Raymond Weil's 40th anniversary and celebrates the greatest music band. At first sight The Maestro Beatles Limited Edition is a really classic timepiece, but when looking more closely we distinguish a multitude of little details. Indeed, we can see that it features the 13 Beatles’ album titles written around the bespoke dial, including a reference to the Help album cover at 4 o’clock. Moreover, the dial and the caseback both feature the official Beatles logo. The watch features a mechanical, self-winding movement inside a 39.5mm stainless steel case. Priced around 1200€ the watch released with the agreement of The…

Griffin Emblem – An Indiegogo success

Griffin Emblem – An Indiegogo success

News
Griffin Emblem has a straight forward brand concept; it wants to create watches by crowdfunding campaign in small quantities, but with a very careful design and materials of superior quality. The brand has a logo that represents a griffin, a mythical creature, half eagle and half lion, symbolizing both power and agility. The name of the brand Griffin Emblem is more focused on the treasure than on the griffin in question. Creators have been captivated for long time by the stories exposing the griffons as heroes and protectors of wealth such as gold. When we observe the logo, we see the creature touch a diamond with his paw. This diamond is a reference to the treasure Griffins were fighting for. The word "Emblem" therefore refers here to the protected treasure…

The Collector’s Experience : Oris Air Racing Edition III by Guillaume J.

Opinion
Happy owner of a Bell and Ross model BR03-92 (which ruined my bank account when I bought it), it was five years ago my first purchase in terms of an automatic Swiss watch. I told to myself that for my 30th birthday, I wanted a second automatic watch, but not necessarily a model so expensive than the BR03. One of the important criteria for my future acquisition was that the watch must have something to do with the aeronautics and feature a pilot style. I did some research on the Internet and my choice was at moment pointed towards a Hamilton Khaki Aviation. But (because there is always a but) when I went to the watch store where I had bought the B&R, which is also a Hamilton distributor, I…

Pick a Mido, Win a Mido

Pick a Mido, Win a Mido

News
Three top watch designers going head-to-head in a contest about what should be the design for the new Mido limited edition, with the public picking the winner! Eric Giroud, Sebastien Perret and Lorenzo Vallone, made each a design inspired by the Big Ben in London. All designers took a radically different approach, with Perret combining elements from the Big Ben into what could very well be a vintage piece by Mido. Vallone comes with a design that holds the middle between a dress watch and a sports watch, while Giroud goes all in with a rectangular dress watch that seems to have come right out of one of the sides of the Big Ben. Voting is open for everybody until the 30th of September 2015, when the design with the…
