Presenting Areion Black Chronograph

For more than 250 years, Birmingham has been a hallmark of watch-matching quality. The city’s famous Jewellery Quarter has been described as a national treasure. But Birmingham is not just about the past and present, it’s a city moving forward in the 21st century, and it’s the birthplace of Areion Watches.

As we have seen in the recent years, many young brands start with quartz movements, because they are easy to source but also because they help the brands to keep things more affordable. Many times, those watches are simply three-hands, or sometimes with the addition of a date display. Areion decided to go further with their first product and propose a chronograph which is driven by a Miyota OS20 movement.

Areion Black

Passionately designed in Great Britain the watches are encased in a 42mm stainless steel case, and present a multi dial faces under a Sapphire Crystal glass, chronograph function, tachymeters and date, quality leather straps with stainless steel clasps and are water-resistant up to 20ATM (50m).

They could have chosen to come with a simple flat dial but they decided to go further and to produce something with different layer which gives a nice visual variety to the dial. Indeed, when looking in the detail, we can see that the indices and numerals are a bit raised to give a 3D effect, and the subdials are slightly sunken, which gives a very harmonious dial which is very enjoyable to look at.

On those subdials you have the chrono minutes hand at 9 o’clock, small second at 6 o’clock, and a 24-hour indicator at the 3 o’clock position.
Areion Chronograph is available in three attractive versions. The Areion Black with its distinctive, yet subtle orange and black face and a complimentary black leather strap. The Areion Blue with a calming but prestigious blue face and matching blue leather strap and the Areion White with a lovely white face and contrasting black leather strap.

If you like chronograph watches, this one will interest you without any doubt, thanks to its size of 42mm, which makes this watch easy to wear; the three different versions, easy to read and quite fun; and of course because of its affordable price of 250£ (around 320€ / $ 360USD).
