3000m under the sea – Andersmann Deep Ocean

Andersmann is a young brand born from passion. It all started with a diver watch given, many years ago, by a father to his son. The happy kid grew up to be a dive watch collector adult. Later, an idea was born: to create watches to fulfil all the wished heavy specifications at affordable prices. In 2014, Raymond Chan, the happy kid, founded the Andersmann brand. The intention was clear: superior quality dive watches with the best available Swiss made movements.

Now, the brand is in the third year of existence and has three collections: Oceanmaster I, Oceanmaster II and Deep Ocean. The watch we are presenting today is the latest addition to the Deep Ocean collection: the Ref. ANN0982.

Andersmann ANN0982 is a true diver prepared for the most extreme condition.

The diver timepiece comes in matte black DLC titanium case with a diameter of 47mm and a thickness of 20mm.  Further dimensions of the case are 56mm lug to lug length and 26mm lug width. The case is a true diver case with sharp-edged angles and a nice frost finish. The bezel has a patterned side for an easy turning, even with dive gloves. The bezel is a classical diver example: 120 clicks unidirectional anti-clockwise of titanium with ceramic insertion. The marking has embossed minutes’ indexes: for the first 15 minutes, one per minute and then every five minutes. Arabic numerals are used for 15, 30 and 45 minutes indexes. At 12 o’clock there is a luminescent dot for easy setup in low light.

Deep Ocean has a simple yet excellent manufactured diver case. The black matte DLC titanium looks fabulous.

The screwed in crown is also made of titanium. For protection, it is placed between 3 and 4 o’clock. As a nice touch, the crown has a beautiful cross pattern to enhance the grip. The crown features the “A” logo of the brand. The entire construction is appealing and denotes robustness.

The case is covered on top with a double curved 4.5mm thick sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. The back is covered with solid screw in titanium case back. This case offers a whopping 3000m water resistance – a true champion.

Andersmann Deep Ocean has a clean and clear dial with excellent low light visibility due to the big luminescent indexes.

The dial has the same dark theme as the rest of the watch. It has a frosted finish with large luminescent hours’ indexes. The hands are skeletonized and the tips are luminescent filled. The seconds’ hand is blue painted offering a nice colourful note.

The simple, clean design has three rows with the name, water resistance capabilities and “automatic” – as a simple statement for the tremendous potential.

The robust case with exceptional grip for the unidirectional bezel and screw in crown, together with a robust Swiss movement makes from Deep Ocean a logical choice for diver watch lover.

Another detail is the “Swiss Made” inscription at 6 o’clock. The watches are assembled in Bienne, Switzerland, the heart of Swiss watch industry, using Swiss produced components. The beast is powered by a well-known Swiss calibre – the ETA2892-A2. This movement is the upper range from ETA and is encountered in many watches from various brands. On this calibre are based movements from Omega, Perrelet, Longines and so on.

The ETA2892 is a 25.6mm diameter automatic movement with hours, minutes and central seconds. The heart of this calibre beats at 4Hz, 28,800 vph and offers a power reserve of 42 hours. The movement uses 21 jewels. The date module is suppressed in the Andersmann watch.

The Ref. ANN0982 is delivered one extra rubber strap and one Italian leather strap, both with black DLC pin buckle.

The Andersmann ANN0982 is limited to 100 pieces and it can be ordered direct from the Andersmann Website for CHF 2480. The price includes shipping, insurance, one extra rubber strap and one Italian leather strap.
